Nobu New Cairo Opening Night

A global brand adds a new address
Few names in hospitality carry the reach of Nobu. What began as a partnership between chef Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert De Niro, opening in New York in 1994, has grown into a global group of restaurants and hotels built on Matsuhisa's blend of Japanese technique and Peruvian ingredients, with a following that spans continents. In June 2026, the brand added another address, opening Nobu New Cairo at Eastown District with SODIC.
Matsuhisa travelled in to host the opening himself, welcoming leading figures from business, culture and lifestyle ahead of the public launch. It marked another step in a wider partnership with SODIC that extends to the Mediterranean coast, where a Nobu hotel, restaurant and branded residences are planned to launch.
The KNOT Technologies Impact
For the organisers, KNOT handled ticketing and access for the opening. Every guest was issued a secure ticket tied to its holder that could not be transferred, forwarded or passed on, so the room held exactly the guests the opening was intended for on a night with a global brand and its founder present.
Arrivals had to feel effortless, and they did. Tickets were verified in seconds as guests came through, with no queues forming at the door and no interruption to the welcome. Scanning ran reliably on site, including offline, so entry never depended on connectivity holding up.
Throughout the evening, KNOT gave the team real-time visibility over arrivals from a single platform, a live picture of who was in the room as the night unfolded, and an accurate record of attendance afterwards.
