AUC Tahrir CultureFest

Three Days, One Campus, One Festival
AUC Tahrir CultureFest returned for its third edition as the largest multi-day festival of its kind in Egypt, exploring how tradition and technology are shaping Cairo's future. Held across three days and attended by thousands of attendees on the university's Tahrir Square campus, it brought together performances, talks, exhibitions, a book fair, a bazaar and a children's programme, drawing AUC's own community alongside the wider public.
The festival's headline moment was a live performance by Lege-CY, giving a multi-day programme built on ideas and discussion a centrepiece the wider public could rally around. A festival on this scale, spanning three days and that many formats, talks, a bazaar, exhibitions and a major performance, all under one roof, needed ticketing that could keep pace with several very different audiences arriving across multiple days for different reasons.
The KNOT Technologies Impact
For the organisers, KNOT delivered ticketing for the festival on a fully white-labelled platform, carrying the university's own branding throughout so the experience felt like a natural extension of the festival itself rather than a third-party checkout.
Ahead of the festival, KNOT ran ticketing through pre-registration, letting the university gauge interest and build a list of confirmed attendees before doors opened, rather than facing demand cold on the day. Tickets were then released in staged waves, spreading demand across set windows instead of a single rush, which kept the platform stable and gave every wave of fans a fair, orderly chance to secure a place.
On site, entry had to move as fast as the festival's own energy. Scanning verified every ticket in seconds and ran reliably offline across the campus, so entry never depended on connectivity holding up, even with talks, exhibitions and the headline performance all running at once.
