Qatari Diar X Vogue Arabia by the Pyramids

A Global Collaboration at the Pyramids
Vogue Arabia and Qatari Diar held Qatari Diar’s 20-year celebration at the ancient Pyramids of Saqqara, staged across the site with live music and large-scale performances. Set at one of Egypt's best-known landmarks, the event brought a large-scale celebration of two internationally recognized brands.
The event drew a large audience from the worlds of fashion, culture, business and media, and staging a production of this size within a working heritage site made the operation behind it as involved as the event itself.
The KNOT Technologies Impact
For the organisers behind the event, KNOT handled ticketing and access for a large event. Every guest entered on a secure NFC ticket, tied to its holder and unable to be transferred or passed on, which kept entry controlled and orderly as a large crowd arrived across the evening. This was the first NFC-ticketed event in Egypt. KNOT pioneered the shift to NFC tickets to prevent fraud and regulate illegal resale of tickets.
The event took place within an active heritage site, so access had to work in step with the Pyramids of Saqqara rather than disrupt them. KNOT’s system helped the on-ground teams coordinate entry around the site, moving a large number of guests in smoothly while working within the constraints of a protected location.
Scanning had to be fast and dependable without relying on constant connectivity. KNOT's scanning ran reliably on the ground, including fully offline, verifying every ticket on the spot, while real-time visibility over arrivals gave the team a live view of attendance through the evening.
